The Clutter Buster
If any of the following statements ring true, you might just be what I like to call… a closet clutterer.
When someone comes over you slide all the papers from the kitchen counter into a neat pile that you hide in a closet, under the bed, or on a nearby chair.
Your desk is perpetually covered with a layer of paper and notebooks.
Your laundry piles procreate and know the way to the most comfy chairs in the house.
Your coat closet is so full of gift wrapping paraphernalia and cleaning supplies that there’s no space for coats.
You can’t even bear to discuss the toy situation.
Does any of that sound familiar?
You’re not alone. During my time as a professional organizer I’ve met many closet clutterers. Their homes are generally organized, but cabinet and closet doors hide uncontrolled chaos. Kind of like the junk drawer, but everywhere.
In some cases the chaos extends beyond the confines of closets. Counters and desks are hidden under a layer of mail and paperwork. Then when company comes around the mess is gathered up and stashed away until it can be dealt with “later…”
Don’t worry. I know that these little spaces throughout the house can be hardest to manage. I’m here to help you take control of the clutter.
The Clutter Buster $30
My goal is to make it accessible, easy, and affordable to get the organizing help you need.
Here’s how it works…
- Look around your home. Odds are your clutter is located in specific areas – closets, corners, table tops… These are called organizing “Hot Spots”.
- Decide which of these Hot Spots you would like to tackle first. Take some pictures of the area and email them to me.
- I’ll look at your pictures and, either over email, phone or Skype, we will discuss what seems to be working and not working in that area. Then I will suggest some ideas for ways to organize the space as well as systems or products that might help keep the clutter under control.
Taking on one Hot Spot a month is an easy, stress free, and affordable way to take control of your clutter.

Here is an example before and after of a pantry I helped with. Meredith took my suggestions and went to work on her pantry. Here are her thoughts along the way and what she had to say in the end…
“I appreciate the accountability a professional offers. This is a project I’ve put off forever and would DEFINITELY have put it off until after the in-laws leave…and then after the next crisis…” Meredith
