This post was first published on May 22nd, 2009. Updated on March 15, 2010 to include a new storage idea!

It’s a sickness I tell ya! While I was doing a little research for organizing Lego’s I got this crazy urge to go buy a bunch of them just so I can organize them all. Don’t worry I refrained.

Right now we have a rather small collection of Lego’s that were Hubby’s when he was a little guy. Then we topped those off with some my son received for his last birthday.

In anticipation of a growth of Lego’s in the coming years I gathered up a few ideas I really liked….

Meredith and Laura use bins that slide under the bed. A great idea and super easy clean up for those larger collections.

Josie took matters into her own hands and hacked an Ikea table. I like the fact that it gives the kids a specific place to play and provides lighting too!

Another Ikea inspired idea… Robinella uses the Trofast drawers to organize Lego’s with a table underneath. I like how the storage unit also serves as a shelf for completed projects.

Jess’ husband built this really cool table to store all of their kid’s Legos. It has 6 drawers on each side of the table. (Laura gave Jess the storage star for this idea.)

Oooooh, how pretty! Now being the organizing geek that I am, I would love to sort them all by color, and type, and size, and well you get the point. Not very practical for the little kids but storing Lego’s in compartmentalized boxes would be good for the pro’s.

Since I have this dream of doing a construction/tool type theme for my son’s room I would love to use this storage bin wall organizer to hold all of his Lego’s. Of course it would look nice if the Lego’s were all color coded too but that may be setting the bar a little high. :) Regardless I love the look.

Kimba found a great solution for storing Lego sets together while not taking up tons of space. She stored each Lego set in a storage bag along with the instructions. Several sets can fit in one storage i this way!

The Animal Bag from Boon is an innovative, multifunctional storage solution for one of the largest clutter culprits for kids…. Stuffed Animals!

I saw the Animal Bag featured in a magazine quite some time ago and marked it as one of my “must try” items. For years I had our stuffed animals stored in a basket contemplating whether or not to just get rid of them all. The boys never played with them and at first my daughter wouldn’t touch anything plush. Well she finally came around and now has 4 stuffed animals she sleeps with at night and takes the others out often to play with.

The basket I was using to store the animals in moved on to bigger and better things so I thought it was time to give the Animal Bag a shot. The nice folks at Boon were happy to let me test one out and also give you a chance to win your very own!

The Animal Bag might not get played with every single day but it is one of those things that always serves its purpose. For me the biggest thing I was concerned about were the stuffed animals getting dusty. Yuck! Not to worry, your stuffed buddies will stay dust free. I mentioned above that the Animal Bag is multifunctional and that is because it makes for a nice cushy seat when it is all filled up! Your stuffed animals are instant stuffing turning the Animal Bag into a bean bag chair.

The Animal Bag has three zippered opening to put the animals in. The zipper is very easy for even the smallest hands to use. The openings are made out of mesh to keep air flowing and you can see what animal is closest to that opening.

The Animal Bag makes clean up time easy and fun, and if your lucky your son or daughter might even curl up on top and take a nap when they are done playing!

The Animal Bag is kid tested and doggy approved, it definitely works for us!

Now here is your chance to win your very own Oval Animal Bag.

All you have to do to enter to win is to leave a comment here. Feel free to share how you are currently storing your stuffed animals.

You have until midnight Tuesday, July 21st to enter.

A winner will be announced Wednesday, July 22nd.

This summer I have been looking for activities that will keep all three of my children occupied and I especially love it when that activity also helps keep the volume down! My kids are anything but quite for the most part of the day but there comes a time when I just want everyone to settle down. An added bonus would be for them to play well together so Mommy can have a few minutes to herself.

With children ages 2-8 it is challenging at times to find something they can all play together in their own unique way but still be close enough not to get on each others nerves. Tricky right!

One of those timeless toys that can give me a few minutes of sanity is Play-Doh! My kids get so excited over Play-Doh! The younger two more so than the older one but he enjoyed himself very much trying out the Spaghetti Factory for the Momfluence Summer Guide. He even put on a fake Italian accent and really got into the character. It was so fun seeing what they came up with next.

I got out the plastic silverware and plates so they could create their own meals and before I knew it they were playing restaurant. My daughter loves helping her Dad in the kitchen so I knew this would be a hit for her. I like the sets like the Play-Doh Spaghetti Factory because it helps give a prompt for imaginative play. My oldest son would have gotten bored after 2 minutes of making snakes or guns or whatever because trying to figure out what to make just isn’t his thing. But he loved roll playing as an Italian chef!

Now if Hasbro would come out with some really cool storage options for these bulky Play-Doh sets we would be all good. For now a plastic bin will do.

My daughter loves playing with her puzzles but our biggest problem has been the mess she leaves behind. You can always tell she has been there. When she rummages through the puzzles she often ends up flipping the puzzles over as she is pulling them out and looking for the one she wants to play with. I think for her the best part is making the mess and then she goes on her way and I am left to pick it all up. (Obviously from this photo Mommy had already picked up the mess!)

In comes Mellisa & Doug with their Natural Wood Puzzle Case. Melissa & Doug has become a household name in toys especially when it comes to puzzles. They have very fun designs and illustrations. Most of my puzzles are Melissa & Doug so when a representative for their company asked if I wanted to review their puzzle case I couldn’t resist. They are giving one away to one of my wonderful readers as well!

I love how neat and organized my game cabinet looks with or new puzzle case. My daughter can easily see what puzzles are there and she doesn’t have to take them all out to get to the one on the bottom which saves me from a puzzle piece pile up! Thank you Melissa & Doug for such a great product. It is so simple yet so functional.

Now is your chance to win a Melissa & Doug Natural Wood Storage Case!

Seriously, I think this the Tot Tower is one of the funnest things we have tested here at “Casa Organization”. I started this section of my blog to find quality toys that can encourage organizational skills for the little ones. The Tot Tower not only looks beautiful but it is so fun to stack and sort. My younger kids, played with these for 2 hours straight when we first got them. At $21.95 that would have been well worth the price. But the fun didn’t stop there. These blocks were carried around for days! Weeks later they are still playing with them and they are holding up great.

The Tot Tower consists of 10 cardboard blocks that stack and nest. What sold me on this product is that they are made from 90% recycled materials and soy based inks were used for the design. These blocks are beautiful and come in 6 styles. We have the All Around The Town Tot Tower and it has the alphabet and numbers on it. The illustrations are amazing.

My two year old daughter said things like.. “I’m going to get it”, “Let’s see”, “My do it myself” and even lined the blocks up and counted them. She was really thinking through what she was doing and had fun while trying to arrange everything just so. The Tot Tower gets two thumbs up from me!
