Simple Tip For Keeping Track Of Your Keys

by Tanna Clark

Let’s give a big welcome to this weeks Inside Tips From The Pro’s guest contributor, Laura from I’m an Organizing Junkie! Thank you Laura,  for giving us a peek into a professional organizer’s home…

Organizing to me is all about finding simple solutions to annoying problems to make your everyday life a little bit easier.  It’s about taking things that aggravate you and finding a better, easier, smarter solution for them, eliminating your stress and chaos in the process.

Take my keys for instance.  I hated losing my keys and hated the time I wasted looking for them.  So terribly annoying!  Thankfully carabiner clips eliminated this annoyance entirely for me and I can honestly say that I never lose my keys anymore.  What did that peace of mind cost me?  A mere $1.00 from the Dollar Store!

I keep one on each of my key rings making it easy to attach my keys, when not in use, to my purse or wallet.

Attached to my purse/diaper bag (the strap has a handy ring on it that makes it easy to clip to):

and when I’m not with my little guy and I just have my wallet with me I just simply attach it to the wallet string.

This way before I even get out of the van I clip my keys onto my purse. I never have to wonder what I did with them. They are always there. So easy!  Sometimes when I venture out without my purse or bag I can just be wild and crazy and clip my keys to my belt loop. It’s ever so attractive but hey at least I know where my keys are :)  I also keep my vehicle and house keys separate because if I ever forget anything in the house I don’t have to turn my van off in order to run back in and get it.  , who knew something so simple could provide so much sanity and order.

Ever since I started using this system about 2 years ago, I have yet to lose my keys!! It only ever happens when I put them in my back pocket instead of on the purse!

Love this! I consistently put my keys in the front pocket of my purse, but this works even better. Thanks, Laura!

I love this tip since I have been doing this for years, especially after always locking my keys in the car. Now, like you said, they are always attached to my purse or briefcase when leaving the car. Plus having my keys attached to a colorful clip is easy to spot on the key holder inside the door of the house. Thanks.

Well look at that, so fun to see my post up today! Thanks Tanna! I’ve got a new pretty purple purse now but this system still works great!
