Last week I shared 3 simple actions for preserving your family stories. If you’re a photography enthusiast, you might already have those resolutions under your belt.
Dig deeper into capturing and documenting your memories by building on the skills you’ve developed. Try these more challenging resolutions on for size:
1. I will journal on a regular basis. Your words are as vital as the photographs you take. Put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard each week to detail your life as it is right now.
2. I will try out scrapbooking. Adding an artistic layer to family photo albums can be intimidating, but today it’s easier than ever. With digital supplies and software, you can create modern, minimalist albums without the fuss of scissors and glue.
3. I will tackle my backlog. Where are your photos from 1994? Use the marvels of modern technology to digitize and archive your prints. Set small goals to make it less challenging.
Like any hobby or creative endeavor, memory keeping takes time, patience and commitment. Set goals that inspire and motivate to be a more organized family historian.
