Here is Hubby’s dresser where we hide most of the Christmas gifts behind. (Don’t mind the clutter on top he has free reign of the top of his dresser to do whatever he wants. I get the rest of the house and no it’s not always clutter free. We LIVE here.)
Why do we wait to wrap presents on Christmas Eve? Well it’s simple. It is much easier to hide the gifts unwrapped so we wait until the last day. We don’t put out any gifts under the tree until Christmas Eve night when the kids are sleeping.
My youngest is three and is just starting to understand Christmas. I cannot wait to see her face when she wakes up to find the gifts under the tree. I revel in the magic of it all. I grew up seeing presents under the tree and couldn’t stand the anticipation. These are the last few years I have to make it magical for them.
So while my kids were at Grandma’s I wrapped all of the presents this morning and then hid them in my closet. The smaller ones went into a bin and the rest I covered with a blanket.
In doing this I have encountered an added bonus over the years. The kids don’t look at the gifts as the most important thing of the season but they have a chance to learn and focus on the true meaning. Tonight as a family we will light the advent candles at our Christmas Eve service in remembrance of Christ’s birth. Have a blessed holiday everyone!

What a great hiding place. Believe it or not, over the years, I’ve emptied out all but one shirt from a dresser drawer and hid the gifts in there. The kids would never think to open my drawer.
