Still looking for that last minute gift idea? How about giving the gift of time!
There are many times in our lives when we just want a break. A break in the routine tasks we do each day. If you are still looking for a gift idea, your time is the gift that will keep on giving all year long!
Create simple gift certificates for the whole family to use. The certificate entitles the user to your time. It can be time spent with you or perhaps a chore they might want to pass off for one night. Maybe just a little pampering time. Personally I enjoy taking the dog on her nightly walks however during the winter this is a task I would gladly pass on to someone who offered. So one of the certificates I created is a gift certificate that could be redeemed for one dog walk. You can create your own gift certificates with a little construction paper and creativity! To add a picture simply take a picture of the item, chore or in my case a picture of the dog. :) Or go through your magazine recycle bin and let the kids go on a scavenger hunt for certain pictures.
Here are a few example ideas for certificates:
- Take the dog for a walk
- Game night with the kids
- Do the dishes
- Cook dinner
- Moms night out
- Picnic lunch at the park
- One evening of babysitting
- A trip to the playground
- A foot massage!
- A back rub
Who would you give a gift of time to? What would you make your gift of time for?
Better yet what would you want a certificate for?

Tanna, this made me laugh. I love that you say you’d rather have your closet re-done than get diamond earrings. I hear ya on that one!
What a great way to cut down on shopping-related and parking-related stresses too!
I always tell my husband not to buy me jewelry for Christmas. I say it’s much to frivolous and we should be more practical with our money. Thankfully, he doesn’t listen to me and he has excellent taste in jewelry!! :)
The gifts of time are fabulous ideas! I would love to have the night off of dishes!!
Oh thank goodness, now I can take back those diamond earrings and get my table saw.
I was simply suggesting this as an added bonus, no need to take anything back dear! P.S. Remember I’m an organizer, I would rather have my closet redone than have diamond earrings! So you can get that table saw dear. ;)
P.s.s to all of my readers that don’t know my husband very well yet, chances of him buying diamonds are slim to none ;) He bought me the most important diamond of all 6 years ago so he’s off the hook until our 10th anniversary. Unless of course he wants to do the rest of the closets then too. :)
