With blogging and social networking sites like Facebook and Flickr I can share family photos with the click of the mouse however I have noticed it is easy to forget about those still not in the digital age. My dad has no computer and I wish he did but the learning curve would be great for him so we dare not leap into that territory. I try to remember to gather photos for my dad but I am so digital I don’t have many around myself.
This year I decide to go through all of the past years photos and select 3 or 4 of my favorites and created a simple binder full of photos for my Dad. He likes simple. I know he wants certain pictures in certain sizes to frame so I figured this would be the best way for him to have easy access to the photos if he wanted to have some enlarged. I bought 4×6 photo pages and a 1/2 inch view binder to store them in. I created the cover by using a binder cover template from Avery. Easy peasy Christmas gift that will keep on giving!

This is my gift giving solution for the mom who has everything, and the dear mother in law who has very different taste. I have running scrapbooks I add pages to on a regular basis for both of them. I have started digital scrapbooking and keep the layouts simple to save time, I do personalize some of the pages to the specific mom, but others I just print 2 copies (and sometimes a 3rd copy for us). Christmas, birthday, and mother’s day gifts taken care of for the year =) Neither of them are very good at keeping photos up to date, so they really appreciate having pictures of their grand daughters at hand. They would be disappointed if they didn’t get them. This year I started a smaller version for the 2 great grandmas as well.
One of my gifts last year was a set of frames with pictures of our children that I’ve taken for my wife. Pictures definitely are a great present! Merry Christmas!
