What I Learned At Type-A Mom Conference

I attended some great sessions at Type-A Mom Conference and wanted to share a few things I took away from my favorites…

Blogger Outreach & Online Public Relations

This was a great session to sit in on and learn more about how bloggers and PR/Marketing firms can work together. I gained insight from both perspectives. We are essentially  learning how this works at the same time.  Companies are looking to build quality relationships and bloggers need to be asking themselves how can I help move their brand forward?

Branding 2.0

This session with Alli & Janice really got me thinking, so much so that I forgot to take notes. I was also too busy taking this great picture of Alli looking all angelic while Janice let a bad word slip. This was a fun session.

Ok. so since my note taking skills faltered here I found two other bloggers that summed it up:

Dana noted, “Build your product, then promote it.  5 Minutes for Mom spent two years developing their site before they began to deliberately promote.”

Danielle noted, “Remember you are your brand.  Everything you do, everything you say illustrates who you are to the outside world.” (Alli Worthington)

Video Blogging

The wave of the blogging future. Help build your community by making it truly interactive. People want to see who you are just not read you. (Even if your in your hair curlers)

Blogger’s Balance

To really sum up something we all needed to hear… Check your priorities! It’s easy for bloggers to get wrapped up in this online world but we need to remember the people right in front of us in our day to day life. Set aside time for your blog but not at the expense of family.

For me this conference was really all about Learning, Growing and Connecting. I shared some of the things I learned today and I will be back later to share some of the ways I see this blog growing in the future.

If you went to the Type-A Mom Conference make sure you link up at Robin’s blog and check out what everyone else had to say as well.
