Those Toys Don’t Go In There!

Seriously from the looks of this cabinet you would think I haven’t taught my kids a thing about organizing. I opened it up and things literally fell out. Here is why…

Since we got our new dog our “leaving the house” schedule has changed in two ways. First, I have to let her out to potty before we leave to go anywhere. While I am doing that, I tell the kids to pick up all the toys that are in the living room and put them away so they don’t get chewed up. I usually see them in the act of picking up but I didn’t realize until hubby pointed it out yesterday that the kids are actually shoving the toys in the cabinet. Oops!

Ah, no worries! Since the toys are usually small last minute things that get left out (except the beach ball!) I think I will put a basket in the cabinet and just have them empty the basket a couple of times a week. Making them run upstairs last minute every time we leave to put these little toys away might cause more arguments than it’s worth.
