Is Your Kid A Tidy Kid?

*Giveaway closed, Dana Stone, you are the winner! I will be emailing soon. Thank you everyone for entering the giveaway.

Getting my kids to tidy up around here is often a dreaded task and that may be because I don’t like it all that much myself. I often cave when they get particularly grumpy about it and end up picking up everything myself. I know this is not a good habit to get in to so we are working on that.

I know the key to getting my kids to willingly help out around the house is to get them excited about it. It’s like doing math homework with my oldest. He hates it until I start talking about the numbers like they are soldiers lined up for battle and then his eyes light up. I found something he could relate to.

When I heard about Tidy Kidz, I thought, now this is something my kids will be able to relate to! Their peers! Tidy Kidz was created by a mom and daughter team because they saw the need to inspire kids to get excited about cleaning. What better way to inspire a child than showing them that cleaning can be fun. Bella is the daughter of Tidy Kidz owner and star of the online videos that “instruct” kids how to tidy up. Each video is a short snippet in an easy to digest portion for the younger ones.

When my 4 year old first saw these videos he asked if we can go buy him a tucker like the one he saw in the video. A tucker is a board that Bella uses to help tuck the sheets under the bed. I even learned something new! I have to admit the video about dusting even made me want to get up and dust.

At TidyKidz.com you can get a yearly membership to watch the videos, downloadable chore charts and a blog full of tips and ideas to motivate your kids. They are still relatively new and will continue adding videos. Boy do I have some ideas for Bella! We need a video for shoes!

Now here is your chance to win a one year membership to TidyKidz.com

All you have to do to enter to win is to leave a comment here.

You have until midnight Tuesday, August 4th to enter.

A winner will be announced Wednesday, August 5th.

My kids need this, oh boy do they need this. And if it would motivate me, that’d be icing on the cake. After all, I can act pretty childish, lol.

What a great idea! I have a child with autism who likes things neat and a typical child who thinks the entire house should be carpeted in Rescue Heroes, trains, cars and whatever else he’s played with in the last three days. What a battle! I’d love something to help get the messy little one to decide cleaning isn’t a horrible form of torture!

My poor daughter is so messy and unorganized. I’ll tell her to pick up her room, and it overwhelms her. I’d love to win for my daughter’s sake!

I think this is awesome…who wouldn’t like an easier way to get their kids to clean…without all the hassle of repeat then eventually do it yourself. I would love for my 4 year old to be able to clean his room and make up his bed along with many other things…this would be a great addition to getting rid of the chaos that is my house!!

I wish I could inspire my kids in a fun way. I hate being the bad guy, but its worse to raise spoiled brats!

With a four-year-old heading off to kindergarten in a few weeks, we could really use some help teaching him how to clean up his room and exactly how to do that. He still doesn’t grasp that we have chores to do to keep the house picked up – but he loves playing on the computer and watching videos, I would love to get him excited about picking up and being a Tidy Kid!

I am really loving this idea. My husband is deployed again and we are getting ready to sell our house and move when he gets home…being able the help my kids figure out how to stay tidy would help my sanity! I hope I win, but if not, I may have to try to budget to do this!

We could really use something like this. We struggle with both are boys, ages 5 and 8, with cleaning up around the house. We’ve tried everything and they just don’t seem to ever want to clean.
Thanks for this chance.

This is a great idea! As a military family, I’m always looking for ways to get things more and more streamlined in our household with my husband being away so much. AND I’m not naturally organized to begin with. I think it would help me as much as my daughter!

This looks so interesting, I have never seen anything like it! This would be a great tool to help my daughter (who is very naturally ordered, but can suffer from frustration, just like me)

Wow…I think that’s a great tool! DS needs a lot of reminding to pick up toys and put them away. His idea is to take them out of the livingroom and toss into his bedroom thus creating yet another mess to pick up!

I would love this for my two girls. Sometimes they are great about helping me, but sometimes they just won’t help (especially the 4yo).
