Trash Bag Poncho

It has been raining here for days. I can’t complain though because our garden is flourishing and I can’t wait to be able to eat fresh vegetables from it.

This rain reminds me of an article I saw in the Tennessean recently. Mrs. Cheap was having her annual Cheapest of the Cheap Contest. (I wish I could link to the article but apparently you have to pay to get April’s archives. Really rethinking subscribing to the Tennessean.) One of the winners of this years contest was a man that submitted his tip for a trash bag poncho. That’s not unheard of but what was interesting is that he took his family on a Disney trip during a rainy season. After checking prices on the ponchos he decided to pack a bag of trash bags. It did eventually rain so he whipped out the trash bags and cut out head and arm holes with his keys. After he covered each of his family members a line started to form! Everyone wanted one. He ended up selling the rest of the bags for like $5 a piece and ended up making $200. His family spent an extra day at Disney with the earnings. Now that works for me!
