For this weeks Works For Me Wednesday Kristen has a backwards edition where we can present our readers with a dilemma and ask for help. I don’t have a dilemma as of this moment but I do have a question for my readers….
What is Organizing?
If you could define what organizing was or what being organized means to you in a couple of sentences how would you define it? If your not very organized but wish you were how would it change your life?
When I asked my 8 year old son this question this is what he came up with:
Organizing is a good way of life.
Keeping your room clean so you don’t go crazy.
I’m working on a larger post for this subject and I will share my thoughts more but I thought it might be fun to add some responses from you.
This answer has the potential to get pretty personal so if you don’t want to answer in the comments feel free to use this form to remain anonymous. Your information will not be shared in any way, i just want to get a better idea how some of you feel about organization.
As always thanks for participating and I love hearing from you all!

Organizing = an end to chaos; simplicity in your life; a sense of accomplishment; success; an open door for more independence
I think of Organization as bringing Order to Life – whether it be home, work, schedules or whatever it is you’re doing. When there is order, there is peace. That could mean messy, neat, OCD clean or method-to madness organization. To each their own… but there must still be some kind of order (not clutter called “controlled chaos” – because then we’re just kidding ourselves.)
Organization: The art of putting things back in their home, when you are finshed with the item.
“Keeping your room clean so you don’t go crazy”–lol, I like the way your son thinks!
To me, it is “A Place for Everything and Everything in its Place.” I’m not 100% great at it, but boy, when I am it sure makes life easier! Helps keep me from going crazy myself. (Like having a file for 2008 tax papers and finding it when I wanted it because it’s purple–and all my tax papers go in purple files, LOL!)
I think organizing means considering everything that you really need to use for your life to go smoothly, figuring out how to efficiently allow those things to do their job, and clearing out/getting rid of everything else. If I feel that my home and schedule are in order, I am less stressed and more capable of handling difficulties.
To me, organization is practical peace. I just feel more at peace when things are organized.
For me, organization is all about making your daily life easier and less stressful. It’s also about making sure you have time for what is really important to you and your family.
I really like Maria Gracia’s (Get Organized Now)definition of organization:
-Finding what you need when you need it, and
-Getting everything done when it’s due.
