Why in an egg carton of course….
I got this idea over at This Young House recently so I thought it might be a fun little activity to do with the kids. Hubby and I had talked about starting a vegetable garden and now seemed like a good time since spring is quickly approaching.
I know the big kid looks thrilled to be planting tomatoes. Of course as he is posing for the picture he said “here put this on your blog so everyone thinks I’m scared of growing tomatoes” then the younger one that has cookie crumbs all over his mouth said “yeah mom put it on your block!” Gotta love them.
We planted green beens, tomatoes and broccoli. We will transplant them outside after they start to grow a bit. All in all the kids enjoyed planting the seeds and making a mess with the dirt. Hopefully we will see some little sprouts in the coming weeks and look forward to eating some fresh veggies in the near future!
