Merry Christmas From Our House To Yours!

I took a little unintentional break this past week form blogging. It turns out that this whole Christmas preparation thing keeps you a little busy. It seems like the week flew by. I can’t believe tomorrow is already Christmas Eve!

My daughter and I both had a little stomach bug last week which threw me off. After that I finished up all of my Christmas cards. I’m really considering simplifying that process next year. Custom cards like this are sounding better and better for next year.

Hubby and I finished all of our Christmas shopping and had just enough time this weekend for a 10 hour bake-a-thon. As a tradition for our family I want us to get together every Christmas to make cookies for our neighbors. We did this during our first Christmas together in Florida and had not attempted it again since we have lived here. Now that the kids can all chip in I brought it up to hubby.

Now, I don’t cook. When I say “make cookies as gifts” I picture a bunch of chocolate chip cookies wrapped up in cellophane or something simple like that.

Oh no, not hubby. He’s what I would call an over achiever. He spent 7 hours on Friday making 5 different kinds of cookies. On Saturday he spent another 3 hours making the sugar cookies look pretty. Mmmm Yummy!

The kids had a bast helping Dad with the cookies. I think there is hope for my daughter, yet. It looks like she will learn how to cook before I will!

I had a very special job. I was the official candy un-wrapper. My kids especially liked this job because if you dropped one on the floor you could eat it. (What is that called, the 30 second rule?)

So here you go from our family to yours, a very special plate of homemade cookies. Merry Christmas! (Don’t worry you can eat as many as you want this is the special fat free plate) I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! Enjoy this time with your families.

After all this time Hubby finally makes a comment! And I guess he liked making the cookies so much he’s offering up his services. :)

Hi Chris! Missed you at Christmas!
