I know there has been a lack of blogging around here lately. It’s STRESS I tell ya! What do I do when I get stressed? I organize. That’s me with every single bit of paper from my desk scattered on the floor. Believe me there is method to my madness. Hubby walked in on me with all of that in the floor and he couldn’t resist the urge to snap a picture.
There is a lot going on right now and I too get disorganized. I get in a slump until I can’t take it anymore and then I go crazy organizing. Hmmmm, sounds like some of my clients. Except they need a little extra help in the actual organizing area.
I mentioned before when my middle child started school that we all go through seasons of change and our systems sometimes have to be tweaked to keep up. Well, I am still tweaking. It’s time to look at my goals and re-evaluate where I am at.
The good news is that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. In the past few weeks I have tackled a lot of the little tedious tasks that have fallen by the wayside:
- scanned all of my client files. (an attempt to become even more paperless)
- updated my address book on my new Mac
- got all of my magazine clippings organized
- deleted old computer files
- backed up files that needed backing up.
- blog updates that haven’t been revealed yet. :)
We’ve also been getting ready for a yard sale, so I have been scouring the house for anything and everything we want to get rid of. The last of the baby toys are leaving. :(
Amongst the mommy thing and business thing I do, I am also editor of my community newsletter. Although I recently had another person come on board and help me with that we both realize it is something we just don’t have the time for. I hate to be the one to leave the newsletter hanging out to dry but after many calls out for help no one has responded. It was a great learning experience for me but now it is time to move on.
We can’t do it all but often times we try to. Take some time this coming week to re-evaluate your goals (or make some). Make a list of all the small manageable tasks you need to do to reach your goal and get started right away! Don’t be afraid to let the activities go that do not fit in with your goals. Remember quality not quantity!
