Back in February I did a little tour of a few Flickr Groups I came across that had some wonderfully organized spaces. I came across a set of pictures I was particularly interested in and mentioned I may do a whole post on that particular set. So, here we are, I would like to introduce you to Chez Larsson.
This little photostream belongs to Benita of Stockholm, Sweden. Here is what her profile says about her little home.
“It’s small (less than 800 square feet plus basement) and we’ve tried to make the most out of the space on a very limited budget. Most of the furnishings were either thrifted, dived for in dumpsters or were left in the house by the previous owners and spruced up. A lot we build ourselves and there is some IKEA… Sometimes we splurge on something more “designer”. “
Everything in Benita’s home is simple and super organized and looks beautiful. I love the clean crisp look of the white. It has always appealed to me especially in small spaces. However, with my kids I can just picture all the hand prints all over everything. Maybe when they are older they won’t attract so much dirt?

The open cabinets and the use of glass jars for storage is truly inspiring. Her kitchen reminds me of World Market, which by the way one just opened up near by and I was able to stop in a browse. I foresee my own little stock in glass jars in the future. Benita shares her cabinets and drawers and not a thing is out of place.

Again, a place for everything and everything in its place. What a lovely laundry room. When I look at these pictures I can almost smell that clean laundry scent.
What fabulous use for that space under the stairs and…
she made this herself. For such a small space she has been able to incorporate some wonderful storage.

This little office space would spark my creativity as well. It comes in pink,

and green! :)

To find out more about Chez Larsson, Benita was recently interviewed at Nesting and previously at A Beautiful Abode. Some of Benita’s collections were also featured over at PoppyTalk.

Last but not least, check out this workbench in the garage. Seriously, I wish my house was this organized.
Thank you Benita for letting me share your photos. They truly are an inspiration.

Thank you so much Tanna!
I do love my little house and I really enjoy organizing.
I don’t have very many handprints, but there are many many little dirty kitty paw prints all over, I promise! The kitty door is right next to the white armchair and sofa in the livingroom.Thank god for slip covers and the washing machine :)
Thanks Nicole, I can’t stop looking at them either, so I figured I would share them. I can’t wait until we get our house sold because I can’t wait to downsize and do things like this.
I am a color girl too. I have a different color in every room (at least in the ones we have had a chance to decorate) I love the idea of doing all white but I just don’t know if I could do it. My kids would think I gave them a whole house worth of blank canvas. But think of the colors I would have then! :) scary
What does it say about me that I can’t stop looking at these pictures! I am such a fan of the small, functional space, especially in our world of excess and consumerism. This house is ideal! Thank you!! Nicole
Oh so beautiful, especially all the little cubbies although too much white for me. I have to admit I’m a color girl….lots and lots of bright colors :)
