The timing couldn’t have been better on this one. Remember my little computer incident? Another thing lost would have been my internet passwords. Not a tragedy just a minor inconvenience. Tragedy would have been someone actually getting my passwords and using them. I was keeping all of my passwords in Outlook. Sort of a temporary holding place until I found a better solution.A better solution found me. I was asked to try the Internet Password Organizer and I must say it is fabulous. Just what I was looking for. I have looked at many other organizers like this but the Internet Password Organizer surpasses them all. When I first opened the package I was impressed with the overall feel. It is very sturdy and built to last. It has a plain black cover and back with spiral binding. I like the fact that it is discrete, it looks more like a journal. The other organizers I have looked at scream Passwords on the front and well a password is supposed to be secret.

The organizer has A-Z tabbed dividers with two letters per tab. Each section can hold about 40 passwords. Each space has room for Webpage, Username, Password and Notes. In the back there are tabs for ISP, Home Network, License Manager and Notes. All of your important information at your finger tips and the price of $19.99 is quite reasonable.

I was so excited about this I started adding my passwords right away. It is so easy to use. No more fumbling around opening other windows to get to my passwords (or looking through my notes if it didn’t make it to the computer). I keep it right next to my computer and have access to my username and password in a matter of seconds.

Two thumbs up for such a great Internet Password Organizer!

The Internet Password Organizer is on sale through Feb. 15th for $17.99.

I’ve also been given a special coupon code to pass on to my readers: GetOrganized2008 to save an additional 10% off the sale price when you buy direct at http://www.internetpasswordorganizer.com/

I’m going to stick this product in the same pile as products like the Freedom Filer (TM). It’s great for those who can’t be bothered to spend the time creating a similar system for a lot less money. I have an Excel spreadsheet template that that I print and put in a three-ring binder, with tabs, which essentially amounts to the same thing as this product, but costs me a lot less than 20$.

I’m not saying the product isn’t good. In fact, I’m really impressed with their FAQ page and the one where they compare the various methods of storing passwords. But I’m not sure it’s necessary.

I’d like to edit the previous comment to change the absolutely rude and antagonistic ‘can’t be bothered’ to ‘are unable’ or ‘are unwilling.’

Thank you. :-)

Raven, thanks for the comment (and the revision) and I do understand where you are coming from. The fact that the excel spreadsheet works for you just shows how there are different ways to go about it but one way might work better for another.

I first started keeping my passwords in excel but it didn’t work for me. Instead of taking the extra step to open up the spreadsheet I would end up writing it down somewhere. When I did have the sheet printed out I would jot my new passwords on the sheet and never update it. It would end up looking messy and I like things looking nice and organized or it deters me from using it (a little OCD perhaps :)). Then I moved on to storing them in Outlook and well pretty much the same thing happened. Anyhow probably a little more than you wanted to know but this organizer does work wonders for me because, like I said, I keep it right next to the computer so when I need to I write in the password and I’m done.

Tanna, I have to LOL because that’s how I used to be, a little OCD I mean, and until I got over that, there was no way I could get even remotely organized because if something wasn’t ‘perfect’ it wasn’t worth doing.

Incidentally, my OCDisness is what makes the binder method so great for me: once a page gets too messy, I can print off a replacement page, fill in the details, and have a nice clean binder again. With a notebook, replacing pages isn’t so easy.

I don’t actually keep my passwords on my computer, just the template that I print and fill out in pencil. Really, it’s the same set up as the notebook, only I can add and remove pages at random.

Probably too much info, too! :-)

Ok, I see so really it is the same set up. You just update the pages. In this organizer I am writing in pencil so I just have to erase if it looks too messy or if something changes.

Have a great weekend!
